Adventures in Lifelong Learning
Applied Arts & Crafts (the following is from an out of date Edlerhostel web page)
Have you always wanted to try your hand at making Shaker furniture or sculpting a piece of jewelry that is as unique as you are? The Elderhostel Applied Arts & Crafts programs are an excellent way to explore your creative side. Quilting, wood carving, photography, weaving, drawing, painting and pottery are just a few of the many Applied Arts & Crafts programs offered. Working with experienced artisans, participants hone existing talents or discover new ones. Use your own hands to create a piece of work that you may proudly display for years to come. Some courses combine related field trips. A sculpting class may visit a museum or a watercolor class may collect wild flowers to paint. Most programs can accommodate those with various levels of experience while others are geared specifically to beginning, intermediate, or advanced levels. Be sure to check the course description for details.
